A leading UK car retailer is seeking an MOT/Technician Tester in Birtley. You will be crucial in preparing vehicles to the highest standards and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate must have DVSA accreditation, strong diagnostic skills, and a full UK driving license. You will play a key role in a team of Technicians and Preparation Assistants in ensuring that all vehicles are prepared to the Motorpoint Standard, ensuring excellent levels of customer service at every step. As part of this the role will include:
Carry out pre-delivery inspections of vehicles and ensure that they are prepared to the Motorpoint standard ahead of customer collection.
Perform MOT Tests where required.
Carry out repair work on vehicles where necessary ensuring that all work meets Motorpoint's Quality Standard.
Liaise with both Customer Experience and Sales teams to ensure that vehicles flow through our process smoothly and our customers receive an outstanding level of service.
Ensure that DVSA standards and health and safety safety regulations are met.
DVSA accreditation as an MOT Tester
Full UK driving licence.
Good knowledge of current MOT testing regulations and procedures
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and rectify defects efficiently.
Good attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork and documentation
Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Basic computer literacy for completing digital documentation
Strong time management skills to ensure timely completion of tests and inspections
Adaptability to handle a diverse range of vehicles and testing scenarios
A commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring the integrity of the testing process
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with customers
** For the right candidate we will be able to support with the training and accreditation required, providing all other essential qualification and skills have been met. This would require the successful individual to agree a two-year commitment with Motorpoint, following completion of the training. **
