Overview

Equans is looking for a Mobile Chiller/Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team working across the North West of England. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours per week. There is also an on-call rota. A competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package are offered.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Air Conditioning Engineer with a strong background in chiller systems, VRF/DX systems, and split-type air conditioning installations. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of a range of HVAC equipment in commercial, industrial, and high-end residential environments.

Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, service, and maintain chiller plant, VRF/DX systems, and split-type air conditioning units
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
  • Fault-find and rectify breakdowns efficiently and to a high standard
  • Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Work in compliance with F-Gas regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and health & safety requirements
  • Prepare accurate job sheets and service reports
  • Liaise with clients and site managers to provide updates and technical advice
  • Travel to multiple sites across the North West
  • Attend site to respond to breakdowns or equipment failures outside of normal working hours (on-call/rota)
Qualifications
  • Proven experience with VRF/DX systems, chillers, and split AC installations
  • City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
  • F-Gas Category 1 (2079) certification
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Electrical qualification (18th Edition) (Desirable)
  • Experience with BMS integration (Desirable)
  • Manufacturer training on major VRF brands (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba) (Desirable)

This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check; ability to pass is essential.
