Job description

Our client is looking for experienced Minibus Drivers for a Term time only contract.

Are you a patient and responsible driver looking for a rewarding part‑time role? We are hiring School Minibus Drivers to support the safe and enjoyable transport of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to and from school.

This is a split shift position based around school hours, ideal for someone seeking regular part‑time work with flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely drive a minibus transporting SEND students between home and school
  • Secure wheelchairs and ensure seat belt safety following best practice
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the vehicle
  • Maintain daily vehicle checks and cleanliness
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, schools, and team members
  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations
  • Handle occasional challenging behaviour with calm and care
Essential Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence with D1 category
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Adults & Children) or willingness to apply
  • Confidence in securing wheelchair users and adjusting seating
  • Clear and compassionate communication skills
  • Basic literacy and numeracy
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and undertake manual handling
  • Commitment to safeguarding and safe working practices
Desirable (but not essential)
  • MIDAS certificate
  • NVQ in passenger transport
  • Experience transporting vulnerable individuals
  • Must be willing to work over 25 hours a week
