A leading e-commerce company in Leeds is seeking a Military Process Control Specialist. This role involves managing logistics processes and ensuring the efficiency of operations across fulfillment centers. Candidates should be skilled problem solvers with a strong attention to detail and a degree related to logistics. Join a dynamic team focused on optimizing global fulfillment operations while working in a supportive environment.
Military Process Control Specialist/ Logistics Analyst, European Central Flow Team (ECFT) at Amazon. Shape the future of global e-commerce as a Process Control Specialist (PCS) at Amazon's ECFT, where you'll orchestrate millions of daily orders and innovate advanced fulfilment solutions. We’re revolutionizing how the world shops, supporting a vast network of Fulfilment Centres (FCs) operating 24/7 worldwide. As the primary escalation point for our warehouses and the crucial link between millions of daily orders and our Amazon Associates, the PCS ensures seamless fulfilment operations.
In this critical position, you'll drive Amazon Europe's workflow planning, risk mitigation, and cost and capacity management. Collaborating directly with FC partners, you'll provide guidance, identify and rectify workflow variances, and actively manage the journey of millions of customer orders from checkout to shipment. Our onboarding process equips you with the knowledge needed, while our matrix structure empowers you to deliver, innovate, create, and grow. We seek problem-solvers with a keen eye for optimization opportunities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to navigate tasks while communicating effectively across organizational levels. Your natural curiosity will drive you to explore the systems that power our smile-delivery machine, understanding their interdependencies and interactions. Join us in this dynamic role and help shape the future of e-commerce fulfilment at Amazon.
At Amazon's European Central Flow Team (ECFT), Process Control Specialists synchronize schedules with Fulfillment Center partners, embracing a 4x10 work week. Based at the LCY Tilbury office, team members work Sunday-to-Wednesday or Wednesday-to-Saturday shifts, covering day and night operations. This schedule aligns with FC operations and provides a 3-day weekend each week. Wednesdays serve as an “overlap day,” where half the team focuses on ongoing operations and the other half on projects, growth, training, and deep-dive analyses.
A typical day begins with an assessment of current state: analysing order volumes, workstream distributions, and real-time data against network-wide metrics and plans. Using proprietary systems, we craft dynamic staffing plans, determine optimal associate placement and timing, and collaborate with FC management to refine plans as orders flow in. This adaptive approach maintains control amid fluctuating demand. When volumes surge, we modulate inflow or redistribute workload. As capacity approaches limits, we reschedule orders to uphold customer promises and prevent late deliveries.
In the event of operational disruptions — such as conveyor malfunctions, weather events, or software glitches — our PCS team acts quickly to mitigate and restore operations. We mobilize cross-functional partnerships, consolidate critical information, and pursue rapid testing and resource optimization to resolve issues while maintaining customer focus and operational excellence.
The European Central Flow Team (ECFT), a vital component of PE, is the beating heart of Amazon's Fulfilment Centres. We operate 24/7, emphasizing real-time responsiveness, capacity planning, risk and workflow management, and continuous improvement across the FC network. Our efforts ensure customer promises are kept and deliveries arrive on time, every time.
We're reinventing the future of fulfilment by collaborating with multiple stakeholder teams to identify high-impact opportunities. Our team pioneered FC optimization, developing a metrics suite and collecting millions of data points to uncover efficiency opportunities. We combine hard data with frontline insights to drive innovations, creating new metrics, workflows, and process paths. Our relationships help scale innovations across FCs, standardizing efforts to increase availability, boost delivery speed, reduce defects, and minimize cost-to-serve across the FC network. Join ECFT to be at the forefront of optimizing Amazon's global fulfilment operations.
