Job summary

A local educational trust is seeking a Midday Supervisor to join The Suthers School team in the United Kingdom. This role is responsible for supervising dining areas, ensuring student behavior is maintained, and supporting a safe environment during meal times. The position offers a part-time contract of 21.25 hours per week during term time only and an annual salary range of £24,796 to £25,185 pro-rata. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the welfare of children and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or in a school environment is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and positive environment during meal times.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to assertively manage student behavior.

Salary: Scale 2 Point 3-4 (£24,796-£25,185 pro‑ra per annum, £12,228-£12,420 actual per annum)

Contract: Permanent, 21.25 hours per week, term‑time only

We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a Midday Supervisor to join our team at The Suthers School.

Key Duties
  • Supervision of dining areas
  • Be responsible for allocated areas and students each day.
  • Oversee and control queues and areas where students wait or queue for their meal.
  • Maintain a good standard of behaviour throughout the lunch/break period.
  • Always maintain vigilance to support the safeguarding of children and always keep the health, safety and welfare of students in mind.
  • Behave in a manner which maintains professional boundaries, respect and courtesy.
  • Be assertive in ensuring that students always behave safely and considerately.
  • Be aware of how to contact a first aider and of the fire evacuation procedures.
  • Clear spillages quickly and clean as necessary.
  • See that dining areas are left clean and tidy.
  • Support the school’s ‘work hard, be kind’ philosophy and its commitment to developing five key character strengths (tenacity, optimism, respect, curiosity and hard work).
