Job description
Mental Health Technician II

Location: Cottonwood Care Home, Ashford, Alabama

Schedule
  • Week 1: 7pm-7am – Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: 7pm-7am – Monday, Thursday, Friday
Pay

Base pay: $14.00/hr with a $2.00 shift differential.

Position performs various patient care activities to meet the personal needs and comfort of the clients, while promoting a safe and therapeutic milieu. Staff is expected to teach basic living skills to clients daily and perform various functions within the facility. This is an "awake" position; therefore, no sleeping is permitted while on duty.

Responsibilities
  • Various activities to meet consumer needs including meal preparation, cleaning of the facility, assisting with daily tasks, etc.
  • Teaching group and individual basic living skills
  • Providing transportation using system vehicle when required by the program
  • Ensuring efficient operation of the facility
  • Assisting with medication using the MAC certification under nurse supervision
  • Completing required documentation using an electronic health record system
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years or older, have a good MVR, and be willing to submit to a motor vehicle report check
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre‑employment background check and drug screen
  • Must obtain CPR and MAC certification upon hire
  • Preferred: previous experience providing patient care in a mental‑health or substance‑abuse treatment environment
