Overview

Rethink Mental Illness is hiring a Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Grove Court, Newcastle-under-Lyme. We are a charity dedicated to helping people severely affected by mental illness, with a focus on respect, dignity, equity and inclusion.

Grove Court is a 24-hour, 12-bed registered Residential Care Home supporting male and female residents with severe mental illness.

Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will offer people affected by mental illness the support they need to regain confidence and participate in everyday social and workplace activities. You will work closely with service users to help them achieve personal goals and access the support they need on their recovery journey.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • You may have experience of providing support to people with a mental illness, or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting (paid or voluntary).
  • Transferable life/work experience from your personal or professional life that can be applied to this role.
  • Good listening, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and willingness to learn.
  • Behaviours aligned with our charity values: hope, understanding, expertise, equity, commitment, passion and openness.
