Qualifications

• Experience in implementing and evaluating care plans.
• Understanding of Recovery principles in Mental Health.
• Knowledge of safeguarding guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assess care needs and develop individual care plans.
• Provide named nurse role for service users.
• Promote quality of service provided.
• Manage unit in absence of Ward Manager.
• Participate in internal rotation including weekend working.

Skills

Experience of adult and/or older persons mental health nursing

Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships

Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1987

Ability to assess situations and make decisions

Ability to engage in MDT meetings

Risk assessment skills

Ability to maintain personal boundaries

Education

Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with current registration
