MEICA Project Manager - (Wastewater Treatment Projects) - Reading Region

Description

MEICA Manager – responsible for leading the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) Engineering scope on wastewater projects. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to bring projects from design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, including programme management, commercial management and HSQE development and awareness. You will lead a one-team culture and support the Contracts Manager to achieve project outcomes. This role offers opportunities to develop specialised knowledge across a wide range of engineering activities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects, embracing a “one team” culture.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are followed on-site.
  • Instil a positive Health and Safety culture within the team.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including clients, client representatives and third-party agencies.
  • Ensure a positive client experience and a collaborative approach.
  • Lead the construction team in all aspects of the MEICA scope of works.
  • Coordinate with civil/building engineering and process teams.
  • Facilitate coordination as Principal Designer for live projects with internal and external designers. Represent the company as Principal Contractor on live sites and ensure required documentation is on-site and up to date.
  • Conduct Health, Safety & Environmental assurance activities on live sites and lead toolbox talks and white-board meetings.
  • Promote best practice project management techniques (e.g., Lean Construction and Last Planner).
  • Monitor project performance including risk and opportunities; mitigate risks and manage opportunities.
  • Report monthly project performance to the Contracts Manager against programme, budget and HSQE.
  • Lead the team in the procurement of supplies and sub-contracts on time and within budget.
  • Manage cashflow and ensure interim payment applications are submitted on time.
  • Develop and mentor staff, including setting development plans for team members.
  • Involve in resource management and recruitment as a hiring manager.
  • Assist, oversee and guide tendering opportunities for new projects.
  • Respond to client and stakeholder complaints promptly.
  • Seek to improve project delivery through lessons learned and innovative solutions for future projects.
  • Keep up-to-date with standards and technology through CPD.
  • Other duties as required from time to time.
Specific Objectives of the MEICA Manager
  • Maintain a positive H&S culture on-site with high standards and zero lost time.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to build a strong MEICA delivery team and hire/onboard new requirements.
  • Support a multi-site programme delivery team across design, SI works and pricing, detailed design and delivery.
  • Build teams that understand Glanua delivery methods and can work autonomously.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure seamless flow from civil/building works into M&E activities.
  • Ensure quality checks are completed and an ITP/ITR process is developed.
