Job description

Maulin Law is a new, specialist boutique law firm focused exclusively on defendant medical malpractice work for the private healthcare sector, including insurers, brokers, and independent hospital groups and private providers. Founded by market-leading lawyers from top-tier firms, we deliver technically excellent, partner-led advice with the agility and responsiveness our clients value.

As we grow, we’re looking for an experienced Medical Malpractice Solicitor (minimum 4 years PQE) who shares our commitment to client service, commercial awareness, and high professional standards.

The role

You will take on a varied and complex caseload of medical malpractice claims — acting for private hospitals, insurers, underwriters, MGAs, and healthcare practitioners. You’ll have the opportunity to influence the development of a new firm, work closely with partners, and be part of shaping a different way of delivering defendant healthcare law services.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of complex, litigated and pre-litigated medical malpractice claims on behalf of private healthcare providers, insurers, and brokers.
  • Advising clients from instruction to resolution, including claim strategy, merits assessment, negotiation, patient safety and reputation management.
  • Liaising with clients, experts, Counsel, and third parties with professionalism and commercial awareness.
  • Collaborating with partners and the wider team to build strong client relationships and business development initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate file management and ensuring regulatory compliance.
What we’re looking for
  • Qualified solicitor or FCILEx in England & Wales with a minimum of 4 years’ PQE in medical malpractice / clinical negligence defence work.
  • Experience acting for private healthcare clients, insurers, or brokers is essential.
  • Strong legal analysis, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to work proactively and independently.
  • Desire to be part of a modern, growing firm that values agility, autonomy, and technical excellence.
Why join Maulin Law?
  • Be part of building a leading boutique medical malpractice firm from the ground up.
  • High-quality, complex work for an exclusively private-sector client base.
  • Flat structure with real opportunity to grow your career and influence the firm’s direction.
  • Flexible and hybrid working options that suit your lifestyle.
  • Highly Competitive remuneration package based on experience and contribution.
