The Purpose of the Role

The role of Media Account Director is to manage and develop a roster of media clients, cultivate loyal and trusted business relationships with key client stakeholders, and work with the wider Join the Dots team to meet objectives and present innovative and effective strategies that drive results.

You will work closely with the team, evangelising about media internally and externally, helping to build our industry profile through thought leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead several accounts being the key contact, both internally & externally, maintaining top class client service.
  • Plan and buy offline media campaigns (press, inserts, door drop etc) as per clients’ strategies.
  • Prepare for and attend regular client meetings, producing client presentations including campaign results, performance forecasting, manipulation, interpretation, and presentation of results with rationales and recommendations for future planning.
  • Demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills, including a creative and innovative approach where appropriate.
  • Assist with plan creation for new business opportunities
  • Support and input into the strategic vision of the Join the Dots team.
  • Have overall responsibility for account performance, growth, and financials
  • Identify trends and pro-actively develop new opportunities, continuously look at ways of increasing margins by pro-actively pushing clients to test new opportunities and initiatives.
  • Leverage supplier relationships to drive new opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain exceptional supplier and client relationships, leading the wider media team to do the same. Leveraging supplier relationships to drive new opportunities
Experience and qualifications
  • At least 4-5 years’ experience of planning and buying offline media (press, inserts, door drop, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally with people at all levels.
  • Creative in problem solving and decision making, with a quick-thinking approach.
  • Exceptional time management skills: ability to prioritise workload for yourself, anticipate blockers and make contingencies.
  • Strategic and Lateral thinker who is creative in their approach to campaign planning.
  • Experience in systems such as Nielsen, MediaTel, TGI.
The Recruitment Process
