Job description
Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team providing building services maintenance at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This full‑time permanent role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm.

The role
  • Report to the Operations Manager.
  • Supervise mechanical, electrical and building trade staff and specialist contractors.
  • Ensure proper allocation of work and completion in accordance with the performance monitoring system and client satisfaction.
  • Use the Maximo CAFM system.
  • Order materials and services within agreed delegation level and certify satisfactory delivery/completion.
  • Monitor trade staff performance, time‑keeping and sickness in accordance with Company Policy.
  • Provide estimates for quoted works, site measurements, cost control information and maintain necessary records.
  • Undergo training and qualify as Authorised Person and/or Competent Person if required.
  • Use tools as necessary day‑to‑day, during emergencies and in support of staff.
  • Participate in a call‑out rota system to assist the Company in responding to emergency situations.
The person
  • Hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; electrical trade qualifications are desirable.
  • Have been in AP roles (Medical Gas, Pressure systems, Fire, etc.).
  • Have significant experience in a building services environment with comprehensive mechanical and electrical knowledge, ideally within a hospital environment.
  • Have prior supervisory/management experience.
  • Be client‑focused with a delivery‑oriented and ‘can‑do’ approach to work.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of various trade groups to be managed (building works, mechanical and electrical engineering).
  • Have good communication and customer service skills.
  • Be able to obtain DBS clearance.
