Location

The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing requisitions and documentation such as drawings, bill of materials, and system records, ensuring alignment with design specifications and standards.
  • Help draft technical specifications and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to support proposals and project execution.
  • Review vendor quotations and support the evaluation process based on performance, pricing, and guarantees.
  • Identify basic purchasing needs for materials and services under guidance.
  • Support the selection and application of quality assurance programs for procured items.
  • Review customer specifications and design documents with supervision.
  • Collaborate with design teams and clients to address design-related questions and updates.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and help resolve design issues with engineering teams.
  • Organize and maintain documentation to support work package preparation and design compliance.
  • Communicate technical and quality requirements to teams preparing construction drawings and procedures.
  • Contribute to proposal development for engineering services and equipment.
  • Work closely with senior staff to learn and support project coordination activities.
  • Collaborate with trades supervision and quality specialists to help complete the CITP (Construction Inspection and Test Plan).
  • Assist in preparing commissioning and pre-operational test plans.
  • Participate in final walkdowns and help document punch list items for construction close-out.
  • Support the creation of technical drawings and schematics with internal and external teams.
  • Help address non-conformance reports (NCRs) and site requirements for permanent works.
  • Assist in managing design interface procedures and document control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project and team needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related field
  • 0–5 years of experience in engineering or project coordination
  • Interest in pursuing a P.Eng designation
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, materials, and basic engineering principles
  • Some experience with tools like AutoCAD, SAP, or scheduling software is a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments
Working Conditions
