You’ll challenge advanced language models on topics such as fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and mechatronics—documenting each failure mode so we can harden model reasoning.

Organization

Alignerr – Mechanical Engineering Expert – AI Content Specialist (Hourly Contract) – $35–$60/hr – Remote – 10–40 h/week

What You’ll Do

• Develop complex mechanical engineering problems across domains like FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, and material science to test AI performance.
• Author step‑by‑step technical solutions and “golden responses” that will serve as benchmarks for learning.
• Audit AI‑generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and adherence to engineering standards (ASME, ISO).
• Identify logical fallacies in AI reasoning—e.g., incorrect force distribution or energy conservation violations—and provide structured feedback to improve the model’s reasoning process.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field).
• Strong foundational knowledge in core areas such as solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical writing skills to convey complex physical phenomena clearly.
• Strong attention to detail when checking mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical constraints.
• No AI experience required.

Preferred

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems.
• Proficiency in engineering software (SolidWorks, MATLAB, ANSYS) for evaluating AI‑generated code or workflows.
