A leading engineering firm in Oxford is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and analyze solutions for hydraulic, marine, and coastal research. You will develop 3-D CAD models, produce technical specifications, and contribute to design reviews. This role offers a salary ranging from £35,000 to £55,000 based on experience, along with a healthy work-life balance and opportunities for international travel.

With over 70 years of experience, our designs have been rigorously proven in use and we have supplied equipment to more than 300 institutions worldwide.
In this full life cycle role, you will be hands‑on with engineering design, analysis and calculations that underpin our solutions. You will contribute to design reviews, offer ideas to enhance functionality, reliability and manufacturability, and work closely with electrical, software engineers and project managers to ensure smooth and successful project delivery.
Experience of linear motion systems, precision rotating components, BS8888 / GD&T, limits and fits, and designing for manufacture is fundamental to the role.
