Job description
Overview

Morson Talent is looking for a Mechanical Aircraft Fitter to join a major aerospace programme based at RAF Brize Norton. This contract runs until the end of 2025, with the possibility of extension, and offers the chance to work on the A400M in a high-tempo Line Maintenance environment. Location: RAF Brize Norton, Carterton OX18 3LX. Rate: 40.38 per hour Umbrella. Hours: 06:00–18:00 on a 5x5x4 shift pattern.

Role Overview

You’ll be supporting scheduled, unscheduled, and out-of-phase aircraft maintenance on the A400M. Although this role is primarily focused on Line Maintenance, support in bay environments may occasionally be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out aircraft maintenance in line with technical documentation and procedures
  • Support movement of heavy equipment, tooling, and spares
  • Assist with aircraft cleaning and toilet servicing
  • Contain and report fuel/oil spills as necessary
  • Assist with aircraft manoeuvring operations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols
  • Complete task bookings and ensure tool/equipment checks are followed
  • Participate in offsite tasks or AOG support when required
  • Stay up to date with Read & Sign notices and operational safety practices
Qualifications
  • Over 2 years’ aircraft experience or recognised apprenticeship with 1 year on-aircraft plus 12 months service
  • Demonstrated competency assessment at a satisfactory level
  • Familiarity with Line Maintenance environments and processes
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
  • Sound awareness of aviation safety and security
  • Able to operate ground power units (GPU)
  • Must be able to obtain Security Clearance
