Job summary

A Cardiff-based educational institution is seeking a Marketing Officer to enhance its marketing and communication efforts. In this role, you'll work closely with the Marketing & Recruitment Manager to implement a strategic plan, support digital content management, and analyze marketing data to optimize campaigns. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and experience in email marketing tools such as Mailchimp. Applications from Welsh speakers are welcomed, although not mandatory. This position offers a competitive salary and is a fixed-term contract until January 2027.

Qualifications

Marketing Officer (12601) - Fixed Term Contract until January 2027

Salary: £33,477- £35,756 per annum

An exciting vacancy is available as a Marketing Officer in the Marketing & Communications department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the City Centre Campus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Marketing & Recruitment Manager to deliver the relevant objectives from the 3-year CAVC Marketing and Communications Strategy, in line with the College's 3 Year Plan.
  • Contribute positively and productively to a professional, innovative, responsive and effective in-house marketing and communications team and service for the College and its subsidiaries.
  • Support sector leading websites for CAVC and subsidiaries – creating, editing and maintaining accurate, innovative, bilingual online content and presence across all sites and for all markets.
  • Be lead contact for course information on the CAVC website, working with key staff across the college to ensure course information is available and accurate for all courses, engaging (through the use of photo galleries, videos, vlogs etc) and supporting a sector leading online learner journey.
  • Support the college to ensure a positive accurate presence across key third party websites – developing, uploading and monitoring content on these.
  • Create, maintain, develop and grow various customer data sets, in line with data protection guidelines, for direct mail / online marketing campaigns.
  • Using email design software incl. Mailchimp and the College's bespoke mailing system to create and implement direct emails for a number of customer groups/ markets including, new applicants, offer holders, existing students, alumni and marketing mailing list members – all supporting the College and its brands to achieve business goals.
  • Work with the Marketing & Recruitment Manager to ensure marketing campaigns are data led – monitoring and reporting data and analysing trends to support decision making / ensure effective return on investment of marketing spend.
  • Support the development and delivery of multiple marketing plans and campaigns to meet set marketing, recruitment and business goals – investigating opportunities that are fit for purpose, negotiating with suppliers to ensure best value for money, media‑buying, and developing and implementing activity – often working to tight deadlines.
  • Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
