Job description

MCS Group are delighted to be working EXCLUSIVELY with a fast-growing cybersecurity scale-up specialising in modern mobile security and device protection. Their platform helps organisations keep employee devices safe by identifying vulnerabilities, risky settings, outdated software, and potential indicators of compromise - then guiding users through simple steps to fix them.

They're addressing a major gap in the market by treating mobile devices with the same level of security and visibility as traditional enterprise endpoints. The company is well-funded, backed by strong industry partners, and has a clear long-term roadmap.

The Belfast engineering team is at the heart of the product - working on core integrations, backend systems, and complex technical challenges that have real impact on the overall platform.

The role

We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end quality across the product stack. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure new features are reliable, well-tested, and ready for release.

This is a hands‑on role with real influence over testing strategy, release readiness, and overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute manual testing across web applications, APIs, mobile apps (iOS & Android), and backend services
  • Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites
  • Perform exploratory and edge‑case testing
  • Validate data accuracy and integrity across backend systems and pipelines
  • Test REST APIs using tools such as Postman or similar
  • Log, track, and help triage defects with engineering teams
  • Support release cycles and act as a quality gate before deployment
  • Promote QA best practices and continuous improvement
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in QA, ideally in a senior or lead capacity
  • Strong background in manual testing across web, API, and mobile platforms
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs
  • Understanding of structured data (e.g. JSON, CSV) and backend validation
  • Working knowledge of SQL for basic data checks
  • Strong attention to detail and clear documentation skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing environment
  • Confident collaborating across multiple teams
What's in it for you?
  • Highly Competitive base salary, flexible dependant on experience.
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Pension contribution
  • Steer the direction of a soon to be multi‑award-winning product worldwide
  • Ownership and freedom to put your own stamp on the work you do
  • Join a team where all ideas are encouraged and welcomed
  • Flexible working and remote working options - Must be able to commute to Belfast office at least once a week.
