Qualifications

Maintenance Surveyor
Glasgow based, covering Central and West Scotland (PA, G, ML postcodes)
£37,100 - £39,052 per year
35 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Surveyor (known as a Maintenance Officer in social housing circles) to join our Central and West team based in Glasgow. The team consists of 5 maintenance surveyors, and the role is mainly lone working but on occasions will be as part of the wider team.

A Maintenance Surveyor provides a scoping and inspection regime that includes pre, post and interim inspections to ensure successful delivery of high quality repairs and refurbishment works for a range of internal and external clients.

The role of Maintenance Surveyor will include:
  • Undertaking the scoping, specification and management of refurbishment projects for internal and external clients, ensuring that work is delivered to the highest quality, within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Undertaking pre, interim and post quality assurance inspections to works delivered by both internal teams and external contractors ensuring that a high standard is maintained at all times
  • Carrying out property inspections and surveys requirements in line with policies and procedures, to ensure Health and Safety, regulatory compliance and contract performance
  • Managing budgets within agreed financial limits and in accordance with the organisations financial policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing documentation for work specifications and quotations to enable specific maintenance problems and issues be resolved
  • Assisting in the coordination, communication and maintenance of relationships with internal and external customers, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately
  • Managing external contractors to ensure maintenance work is carried out in accordance with contract specifications and programmes
Skills and experiences:
  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to AssocRIC, MRICS CIOB, Degree, HND or HNC in Surveying or Construction or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
  • Previous experience in working within domestic social housing is a requirement
  • Proven experience of managing small to medium scale refurbishment projects
  • Proven experience in working with others to deliver maintenance related works, including indirect reports and third party suppliers
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
