Salary: £39,600 – £45,400 per year, dependent on experience + Performance Bonus & Exceptional Benefits

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm

The Role

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities at our Mars Petcare factory. Leveraging SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles, you will ensure optimal equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with operations, maintenance teams and supply chains to manage work orders, materials and resources efficiently.

What We’re Looking For
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and maintenance processes – ability to tailor strategies for reliability and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) – hands‑on experience with work orders, equipment master data and scheduling.
  • In‑depth understanding of TPM principles – autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, focused improvement and quality maintenance.
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling expertise – develop, optimise and execute schedules within SAP to maximise uptime.
  • Data analysis and continuous improvement skills – analyse maintenance KPIs to identify issues and recommend enhancements.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration – coordinate with operations, maintenance teams, stores and management to ensure resource availability and promote proactive maintenance culture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive and autonomous maintenance activities using SAP PM.
  • Implement TPM initiatives and coordinate autonomous maintenance, focused improvement and quality maintenance activities.
  • Manage material reservations and parts booking in SAP to support scheduled maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inventory and parts usage audits to verify accuracy and support cost control.
  • Create, review and monitor maintenance work orders and job plans in SAP.
  • Analyse SAP-generated reports and KPIs to identify equipment performance issues and recommend process improvements.
