We are looking for candidates with a background in trades such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, and property management.
This is a full‑time position offering an annual salary of up to £35,469.72, plus benefits. The role entails a 40‑hour workweek with flexibility. You will primarily work Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends to ensure the continuous upkeep of our hotel.

Responsibilities
- Maintain the efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment
- Keep sufficient stocks of consumable goods for use in the case of hotel general maintenance
- On a monthly basis, in conjunction with the Head Housekeeper and General Manager, carry out a survey of the hotel's condition and implement remedial works to any finishes that require attention
- Ensure that all drains and sewage systems are fully operational and functioning correctly
- Work closely with the General Manager and Finance Department on maintenance functions and control of expenditure
- Play a key part in energy conservation activity including meetings and recording of action taken
- Consider how activity within the department impacts the environment, take an active part in recycling and reducing the carbon footprint of the hotel
- Monitor the performance of maintenance contracts in liaison with the wider team, GM and in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements
- Ensure that policies with regard to lifts, fire alarm systems and pressure vessels are maintained in accordance with insurance requirements
- In conjunction with the Reception Team Leader, ensure that adequate spare keys for the bedroom stock are held in a safe place and available for immediate distribution as required
- Ensure that all hotel paging systems are kept in full operational mode
- Collect daily information from all associated departments relating to any equipment or defect that may disrupt the hotel's day‑to‑day operation and implement remedial action as promptly as possible
- When required, liaise with the Area Maintenance Engineer and Local Authorities regarding planning consent, building control and regulations relating to localized work before it is implemented
- Be prepared for out‑of‑hours callouts due to emergencies that may arise unexpectedly
- Be responsible for training all hotel-based maintenance personnel and record all training carried out
- Attend heads of department meetings and training sessions as requested by the hotel General Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with 2 or more years in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems, HVAC, fire safety systems, lifts, and energy management systems (EMS)
- Strong understanding of preventive and reactive maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS), especially for newer properties
- Experience with vendor management and coordinating with external service providers
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals (electrical/plumbing layouts)
- Familiarity with local safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Good problem‑solving and crisis management skills
- Effective communication and reporting skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency repairs with minimal downtime
- Customer‑focused mindset to minimise disruptions to guests
