A local healthcare provider in South Shields is seeking a maintenance craftsperson (Electrical) to support the maintenance and repair of electrical plant and equipment. The role necessitates formal electrical engineering qualifications and involves participation in on-call duties. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, conscientious and dedicated maintenance craftsperson (Electrical) to join a team of engineering craftspersons responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical plant and equipment at buildings managed by CHoICE Facilities Services. The post holder may be required to take on the role of Competent Person (CP) as defined within Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 00 for multiple engineer services to support statutory, mandatory and best practice commitments to existing partners.
The role requires flexibility and broad knowledge of electrical systems to ensure maintenance, repair and installation activities are completed efficiently while delivering high standards of service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to operate and maintain a large-scale electrical system including: Low Voltage (LV) distribution boards, LV switchboards, LV small power distribution, general and emergency lighting, theatre operating lights, nurse call systems, CCTV, swipe access systems and uninterruptable power supplies. The post holder will participate in the current on-call rota and undertake overtime when required, with appropriate payments made.
