Job Purpose

At Lucy Properties we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards across our 360 rental properties in the Oxford area. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our professional and friendly maintenance team based in Jericho.

Business Overview

Lucy Real Estate, comprised of Lucy Properties and Lucy Developments, provides high‑quality homes and outstanding support to tenants and buyers. Lucy Properties manages a portfolio of 360 residential properties, while Lucy Developments builds high‑end, sustainable homes.

Job Context

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will help keep properties safe, well‑maintained and presented to a high standard. Duties include carpentry, decorating, plumbing, cleaning and landscaping, both independently and with the wider team, conducting regular inspections, assisting event setups, and ensuring health and safety compliance.

Job Dimensions
  • Full‑time client‑facing role, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday
  • Participation in the on‑call emergency rota
  • Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager
Key Accountabilities
  • Carry out scheduled and ad‑hoc property repairs to a high standard
  • Perform preventative maintenance and identify areas requiring upgrades or replacements
  • Provide clear advice and support to tenants on maintenance matters
  • Undertake repair tasks: carpentry, general building work, basic plumbing, painting and decorating, brickwork and plastering, roofing and guttering
  • Manage furniture removal and waste disposal using company van
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify potential issues
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Participate in the emergency on‑call rota as required
  • Support continuous service improvement with any other duties as needed
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications, knowledge, and experience:

  • Experience in property maintenance or a related trade
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting and general repairs
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor electrical, plumbing and structural issues
  • Competency in using hand tools and maintenance equipment
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence (clean)
