About the Role

Machine Learning (ML) Engineers work in cross-functional teams with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to develop algorithmic products that power the company. Embedded in product teams, they address complex problems by translating business challenges into concrete pipelines, deploying models to production, and collaborating on experiments.

ML Engineers report to the Science management team and are part of a vibrant data science community with guest lecturers, technical reviews, career pathways, and continuous learning opportunities. Our career progression supports both management and individual contributor tracks. Candidates come from diverse backgrounds, many with formal training in Machine Learning.

We seek a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead our Search & Relevance team, focusing on optimizing customer experience through recommendation and search algorithms. The team comprises ML Engineers of various seniorities, including mid-level, Senior, and Staff.

Ideal candidates will:

• Have experience managing machine learning engineers and guiding their career development.
• Have built and deployed ML algorithms in production within product teams.
• Provide technical guidance on ML algorithm design and implementation.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop roadmaps.
• Ability to unify diverse team members into a cohesive unit.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Adopt a pragmatic, flexible approach with a focus on impact.
