10 hours per week (Monday to Friday 11.30am-1.30pm)

Grade 2 (SCP 2-3)

FTE Salary: £24,413 to £24,796

Actual Salary: £5675.23 - £5764.30

Woodfield Primary School are seeking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor to be responsible for supervising children during our lunchtime periods.

Duties to include the safe supervision and welfare of pupils on the school site during the lunch break.

Duties may entail working with pupils from Nursery to Year 6, including children with special educational needs.

Lunchtime supervisory assistants are part of the teaching team which requires cooperation of all staff to ensure the efficient running of the school. Close cooperation in all aspects of childcare and education is essential.

Experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising children at lunchtimes, including children with special educational needs
  • Supervising children on the playground area
  • Attend to the pupils’ personal needs and implement related personal programmes including social, health, physical, hygiene, and first-aid and welfare matters
  • Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning including the cleaning up of spillage and waste
  • Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model, and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Ensure that pupils are supported to eat a well balance and nutritional meal, sometimes with adult assistance.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in play.
  • Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate.
  • Be sensitive to individual learners’ disabilities and show empathy for their changing needs.
