Job overview

The purpose of the role is to provide medical care on our new Medical day unit . This unit provides day case procedures Monday to Friday. There will be an expectation to support our General Medicine wards situated at Eastbourne District General Hospital.

The Supporting Professional Activities will be used for non-clinical administrative duties, audit, research, clinical governance, teaching and training, and reflective practice.

Person specification

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent
• Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practice
• MRCP or equivalent

Training and experience

• Experience in all aspects of General (Internal) Medicine
• Experience in other relevant medical specialities

Admin/managment

• Evidence of participation in staff management
• Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal
• Management course and/or qualifications
• Knowledge of the structure of Health Service

Audit/Research/Publications

• Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit
• Understanding of the role of research
• Completion and/or Publication of audit projects
