Our client, with a beautiful and prestigious private residence near Canterbury, Kent, is seeking a highly experienced and professional Live-out Housekeeper to support the household team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks to an exceptional standard across all living areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and formal reception rooms
- Turndown service in guest and principal bedrooms
- Deep cleaning tasks on a rotational basis, including polishing, high dusting, and spot‑cleaning upholstery and walls
- Care of fine materials such as marble, brass, silver, wood, silk, and antiques using appropriate techniques and products
- Laundry management, including washing delicate garments, pressing, steaming, folding, and managing wardrobes
- Maintaining orderly wardrobes, including colour‑coordination, seasonal rotation, and packing/unpacking as needed
- Kitchen cleanliness, including appliance care, fridge and pantry organisation, and bin rotation
- Assist with table setting, polishing glassware, and general dining room readiness
- Flower arranging and care for indoor plants
- Keeping household supplies stocked, and liaising with the House Manager regarding inventory
- Running light errands as directed
- Supporting light hospitality duties as needed during guest visits or events
- Work closely with a small, professional household team, including other Housekeepers, a Chef, and a House Manager
- Follow established protocols to ensure seamless service and discretion
- Be flexible, adaptable, and ready to assist colleagues where needed
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, maintaining a cooperative atmosphere
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working in a high‑standard private household or luxury hospitality environment
- Comfortable with team‑based work and taking direction from senior staff
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently without constant supervision
- A professional and polished demeanour with a can‑do attitude
- Right to work in the UK
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for commuting
