A local educational institution in Rotherham is seeking a committed Literacy Tutor to deliver high-quality tuition and support for primary-aged children and Key Stage 3 scholars. The successful candidate will help raise literacy attainment through targeted interventions, working closely with teaching staff and contributing to a positive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for education and the ability to inspire students. A Grade C or above in English and Maths and QTS or HLTA status are desirable qualifications.

Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: £26,138 - £27,912 (Actual Salary) | SCP 15-19
Hours: 37 hours/week | Term Time Only (39 weeks/year)
Astrea Academy Dearne is seeking a highly effective Literacy Tutor to join our committed and ambitious team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality, targeted tuition to individuals and small groups of scholars. You will play a key role in supporting identified students through structured interventions, helping to raise attainment and close gaps in literacy.
The ideal candidate will hold Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, with QTS or HLTA status desirable. You will have significant experience working with primary-aged children and/or Key Stage 3 scholars, including those with additional needs.
We are proud to serve over 1,150 scholars aged 11-16 in Barnsley, and are easily accessible from Wakefield, Leeds, Doncaster, and Sheffield.
