Lifeguard (School swimming) - 35 hours per week

Salary: £20-21k

Location: M12

What you'll be doing...

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated, committed and enthusiastic individual on a full‑time basis. The successful candidate will be passionate about the Dream Big Sports brand and will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of children during Swimming lessons in primary schools.

Your role will include:
  • Supervising and ensuring the safety of children during swimming lessons.
  • Setting up and dismantling the pop‑up swimming pool and equipment as and when required.
  • Supporting the delivery of high‑quality swimming lessons and water safety education to primary school children, in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Enforcing pool rules and regulations, whilst maintaining a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Responding to emergency situations, administering first aid and CPR where required.
  • Collaborating with school staff and families to promote a positive swimming experience for all children.
  • Completing relevant risk assessments and logs to ensure safety of participants.
  • Attending professional development where required for the role.
  • Being a positive role model, creating a positive and engaging environment which encourages participation in sport and physical activity.
  • Being a brand ambassador, demonstrating our company values.
  • Assisting with the promotion of other Dream Big Sports products and services.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum for primary school Swimming.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified lifeguard.
  • Experience of using IT software.
Qualifications:
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Safeguarding Qualification
  • Current Enhanced DBS Check
  • ASA Swim England Qualification x1 (preferred)
General:
  • Driving license and access to own form of transport.
  • This job is subject to receipt of DBS and relevant references.
Training and Development:

Personal development is paramount at Dream Big Sports and includes:

  • Internal CPD (equivalent to 50 hours per annum)
  • External training, workshops and resources.
  • Regular performance reviews.
Working for Dream Big Sports:
  • Full‑time contract of 35 hours per week.
  • Competitive salary of £20,000 - £21,000.
