A Quality Technician will understand standards and requirements for the qualification of aerospace parts, inspection techniques and decision making, building up to being a quality delegate with ability to develop procedures and support the requirements of AS9100/9120 certification.

Wage: £14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Training course: Engineering manufacturing technician (level 4)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

37 hours a week

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.

What you’ll do at work
  • Support the delivery of high reliability aerospace components by assisting with inspection, testing, and documentation processes across the lifecycle of the parts in Apollo.
  • Learn to conduct dimensional checks, review technical specifications, and verify that materials and assemblies meet stringent aerospace standards.
  • Work alongside experienced quality engineers, the apprentice will participate in root‑cause analysis, non‑conformance investigations, and continuous improvements activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining accurate quality records, supporting procedure updates and audits, whilst ensuring compliance with Apollo's quality management system and industry regulations.

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training provider

DUDLEY COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY

You will be required to attend the Institute of Technology, Dudley College, 1 day per week in term time only.

  • You will be assigned an assessor who will visit you in the workplace up to every 8 weeks to support you with your apprenticeship.
  • Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship you will receive a Engineering Manufacturing Technician HNC Level 4 - Mechanical qualification.

You will receive on the job training as well as a formal pack to develop you throughout the quality and aerospace parts processes.
