Junior AML Risk & Compliance Analyst – Fixed‑Term Contract

Sewell Wallis is recruiting on behalf of a global firm based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The firm operates in over 40 countries with more than 50 offices worldwide.

Position: Junior AML Risk & Compliance Analyst
Duration: 18‑month fixed‑term contract
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

About the Role

The role focuses on client due diligence, risk assessment and maintaining AML compliance across the firm's client database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct client due diligence (CDD) on new and existing clients and matters from an AML, sanctions and reputational risk perspective.
  • Undertake client and matter risk assessments considering jurisdiction, legal, regulatory position and commercial activities.
  • Administer company searches on all new client engagements to identify PEPs, sanctions or adverse media issues.
  • Take ownership of all stages of the AML workflow and raise issues to senior team members when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate client information in the firm's finance system.
  • Handle enquiries from fee earners and staff regarding new client forms, client data and general regulatory and compliance matters.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 6–12 months of experience in Risk and Compliance within the legal sector.
  • Excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong verbal, written and face‑to‑face communication skills.
  • Desire to learn and develop within the Risk and Compliance industry.
