Job summary

A leading mental health service provider in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist to provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight. You will manage a defined caseload within the criminal justice system and contribute to service development and clinical governance. Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ postgraduate psychiatric experience, including 2+ years in forensic settings.
  • Experience teaching trainees and healthcare professionals.
  • Proven ability to lead service planning and quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical management of psychiatric assessments and treatment planning.
  • Provide specialist advice to courts and prepare reports for Mental Health tribunals.
  • Supervise trainee psychiatrists and junior medical staff.

Skills

Strong risk assessment and management skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Leadership in MDTs
Knowledge of MHA/MCA laws

Education

MBChB/MBBS or equivalent
MRCPsych
Higher research degree (MD/PhD or MSc)
