As our Lead Electrician, you will play a central role in launching and growing our domestic and commercial electrical contracting services. This is a key opportunity to step up into a position with more responsibility and influence. You’ll be the technical lead, shaping how our electrical division operates while undertaking high‑quality work that strengthens our reputation in new areas.
This role is based out of our Tuxford office and covers projects across the East Midlands.
Pay
£40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Develop our existing electrical services and activities in support of the core renewables business.
- Execute a wide range of domestic electrical installations (rewires, consumer unit upgrades, lighting, smart home systems, EV charging points, fault finding) and commercial electrical projects (installations, maintenance, testing, and inspection in offices, retail, industrial units, etc.).
- Oversee projects from initial survey and quotation through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate on‑site activities, including liaising with clients, other trades, and suppliers.
Technical Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance.
- Conduct thorough testing, inspection, and certification of all installations.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Business Development Support
- Work closely with our team to develop and implement the strategy for the new contracting division.
- Assist in estimating, quoting, and tendering for new domestic and commercial electrical projects.
- Identify opportunities for growth and service expansion.
- Act as a technical expert during client consultations.
Quality Control & Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure all work consistently meets the high‑quality standards expected by Trusted Energy Solutions and our clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships and fostering repeat business through clear communication and professional conduct.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Oversee and mentor existing and new junior electricians, apprentices and contractors as the team expands.
- Contribute to the recruitment process for future electrical team members.
About You
- Minimum of 5 years of post‑qualification experience as a fully qualified Electrician.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering a diverse range of domestic and commercial electrical projects.
- Experience in a client‑facing role, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Qualifications & Certifications (Essential)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (latest amendment).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent, e.g., 2394/2395).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Exceptional diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH desirable).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Highly organised, with excellent project management and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship.
