A leading automotive service provider in England is seeking an experienced Van Technician to maintain and repair Mercedes-Benz vans. Qualifications

  • Qualified to level 3 in LCV Vehicle Repair and maintenance.
  • Experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs.
  • Current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs to Mercedes-Benz vans.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory and cleanliness in the workshop.
  • Assist in diagnosing and planning repairs.
  • Document repairs and warranty claims.

Skills

Overview

Basic salary up to: £38,000 DOE. OTE £48,000 pa (overtime paid at X 1.5 basic hourly rate). 14:00-22:00 - 37.5 hr week (Late shift allowance)

We are looking for an experienced and qualified van technician to join our brilliant team at our Mercedes-Benz dealership in Reading. As a Van Technician, your role will be to keep our customers’ vehicles on the road, via quality, safe and compliant maintenance. The right candidate will be able to deliver an exceptional service and to the highest quality.

Responsibilities
  • Performing major and minor repairs to Mercedes-Benz vans
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management
  • Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting
  • Complete customer documentation while working to agreed time scales
Skills & Behaviours

You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in LCV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, plus, will have experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs. What’s more, you will need the ability to identify worn & faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.
