The Opportunity

Our award‑winning landscape architecture practice is growing in Bristol and we are seeking a Landscape Architect to be based in our Bristol or Cardiff Bay offices with flexible, collaborative hybrid working options. We are an integrated team of landscape designers and planners, handling projects from assessment and strategy to concept design, master‑planning, detailed design, landscape management, visualisations and 3D modelling. Projects include green infrastructure, urban regeneration, transportation, restoration, streetscape design and green buildings. We work with a wide range of Arup’s other disciplines including urban design, ecology, town planning, digital technology, engineering, cost consulting and project management.

Is this role right for you?

As a Landscape Architect, you will provide design lead, develop and run your own projects, and collaborate across a community of experts. You will work across the Mid‑West Region, mainly based in Bristol or Cardiff, and travel to sites via public transport or hire car. A valid driving licence is required.

Your profile should include a passion for landscape, curiosity, personal drive and technical skill, as well as an understanding of the industry and a desire to deliver excellent services for clients.

Requirements
  • Masters or postgraduate diploma in landscape architecture or a related discipline; current or prospective CMLI accreditation.
  • Demonstrable professional experience in areas such as energy, water and transport infrastructure, commercial development, urban regeneration, residential, education, health, historic buildings and landscape planning strategic policy.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; GIS (ArcGIS) and 3D modelling software are advantageous.
  • Ability to understand and respond to project briefs and to communicate ideas through sketching and hand drawing.
  • Team‑working skills, especially in multidisciplinary teams covering infrastructure, environment, transport and master‑planning.
