Why be a Laboratory Testing Technician at THG Beauty?

The position of Laboratory Testing Technician is intended to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the testing laboratory and stability recording system. The position provides a foundation in essential aspects of the laboratory environment, from formulation testing through to packaging testing. The position requires compliance with company policy including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (CoSHH).

As Laboratory Testing Technician, you'll
  • Assist the Account Head of R&D in the day to day running of the laboratory.
  • Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Follow company Work Instructions (WIN’s).
  • Prepare samples for component testing under the guidance of the Packaging team.
  • Carry out stability, component, and stain testing. Including evaluating samples, recording, and reporting of results to the Chemists, Technical Managers, Heads of R&D and the packaging team.
  • Maintain hygiene standards within the laboratory, ensuring it remains a clean, safe and efficient workplace.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to in house testing during the development of safe and legal cosmetics and personal care formulations.
  • Maintain clean storage conditions and ensuring safe handling of chemicals in accordance with company policy.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness as a member of the Technical Team through consistent professional conduct and role model behaviour.
  • Communicate effectively and positively with all teams, colleagues, and managers.
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety for yourself and other persons who may be affected by your work.
  • Cooperate with regards to all company health & safety measures, following H&S training when using equipment.
  • Report to a person in authority any work situation which may represent a serious or imminent danger to health & safety or any shortcomings in the protection arrangements to health & safety. In respect of any hazards remember ‘see it, report it’.
  • Help to promote a positive working atmosphere within the company.
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
