We offer strong Wi‑Fi and private accommodation in a peaceful, remote setting. Given the remoteness of the location, you will have to have your own car, which can be parked safely on site.

Kylesku Lodges, on Scotland’s stunning NC500, is looking for a motivated Housekeeper to help deliver exceptional guest experiences. We operate 10 self‑catering units (6 three‑bedroom, 4 two‑bedroom, including 4 pet‑friendly).

The John Muir Trust is recruiting a fixed‑term Housekeeper to support the Lodge Manager from 15 March to 31 October 2026. Weekend work is required, with lighter hours during the week. No two weeks are the same, and a roster will be provided in advance. This is a full‑time seasonal position.

Main responsibilities
Unit Cleaning & Preparation
  • Preparing clean linens in line with housekeeping roster the night before checkout.
  • Making sure your housekeeping bag is fully stocked with all essential cleaning products and aids.
  • Thorough cleaning of all areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces, to include making beds as per guest requests.
  • Ensuring all surfaces, floors, and fixtures are cleaned and sanitized to high standards – including wiping down skirtings in all pet lodges.
  • Keeping all external entrances & windows clean.
  • Resetting units between guest stays to ensure they are ready for new arrivals.
  • Checking and restocking essential items such as toiletries, cleaning supplies, and kitchen essentials.
  • NO daily service required – only on check out.
Laundry Handling
  • Processing all single bedding & towels on‑site using commercial machines. (larger laundry items to be sent out for cleaning)
Pet‑Friendly Units
  • Paying special attention to pet‑friendly units to ensure they are spotless and free from any pet‑related residue.
Inventory & Maintenance Reporting
  • Notifying management of any maintenance issues & or items that require replacement.
Person specification
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards is essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently.
  • Reliable, punctual, and well‑organised.
  • Must have a valid UK driver’s licence and be able to drive a manual car (van supplied by the Lodges for daily use between the lodges) this is an essential part of the job to carry linens and supplies between the lodges.
Qualifications
  • Experience in housekeeping is preferred, lodge set up training will be provided.

Type of contract: Fixed Term 15th March to end October 2026

Hours: Flexible scheduling, with a focus on Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays with less busy days during the week

Pension: 5% employer contribution to a group auto‑enrolment pension scheme

Reporting to: Kylesku Lodges Manager

Location: Kylesku Lodges

Accommodation: On‑site accommodation available or if you are local then 50% of your petrol/diesel cost at AA rate
