Junior Test Analyst – Premex Group

Location: Bolton

Contract: Full-time

Reports to: QA Business Lead

Role Purpose

Are you passionate about quality assurance and eager to kick-start your career in software testing? At Premex Group, we’re looking for a Junior Test Analyst to join our dynamic cross‑functional team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality testing across programs, projects, and small changes. From defining testing approaches to executing test plans and reporting results, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our solutions meet business needs and IT security standards. You’ll be fully supported with a tailored development plan designed to help you progress into a non‑junior position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage fully with training and development opportunities
  • Perform software testing and support User Acceptance Testing on complex, high‑profile initiatives
  • Ensure testing approaches align with the overall Test Strategy
  • Deliver high‑quality test outputs that meet business requirements
  • Apply risk‑based testing techniques and communicate rationale clearly
  • Contribute to scoping, estimating, and impact assessments for testing activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to execute testing effectively
  • Work closely with architects and developers to assess testing implications of system design
  • Support stakeholders in defining and executing User Acceptance Testing
  • Capture and communicate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Recommend improvements by staying up to date with industry methods, tools, and techniques
  • Respond efficiently to production problems to minimize disruption
Leadership & Quality Assurance
  • Act as a role model within the team
  • Learn and grow under the guidance of senior colleagues
  • Contribute to departmental testing standards, policies, and processes
  • Support the introduction of best practices, tools, and performance metrics
Role Specification
Knowledge & Experience
  • Awareness of business processes and the importance of testing
  • GCSE passes (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Desirable
  • ISTQB Testing Qualification
  • Degree (2:1 or above) in Software Engineering or related subject
  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver, UI/API automated testing, performance/load testing, and test environment management
  • Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile approaches, TDD, and Continuous Integration
