Job description
Junior Business Development & Marketing Associate

This range is provided by novoville. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

We're excited to open a brand-new role for a Junior Business Development & Marketing Associate. The position is to support the expansion of Shared Works, Novoville's fast growing platform for home retrofit and shared building projects, with its government and contractor client-base.

Over the last 3+ years, Shared Works has been expanding across the UK, delivering impact in ClimateTech / PropTech / GreenTech and helping thousands of residents and property owners navigate repairs, upgrades, and energy-efficient improvements. With major government partners, active projects across the UK, and a market that's growing fast, we're ready to take our outreach and commercial activity to the next level.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to learn, is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, and is excited by the idea of working in a scale-up dedicated to improving people's lives and the planet. You will be trained to support both marketing and business development activity: researching prospects, preparing content, talking with users and clients, and helping us grow awareness, leads, and partnerships.

Requirements

  • Researching and mapping potential clients: councils (local government), housing associations, contractors, industry partners

  • Supporting outreach campaigns by preparing sales materials, lists, and introductory messages

  • Helping qualify inbound leads and gather key information for the BD team

  • Demoing the system to qualified leads, preparing proposals and presentation decks

  • Onboarding new clients, providing a seamless transition from sales across to go-live

  • Attending events, webinars, and conferences to help represent Shared Works and its parent company, Novoville

  • Helping create and update marketing materials across digital and print formats

  • Drafting social posts, newsletters, case studies, and light website content

  • Tracking basic metrics (e.g., engagement, lead sources) and help report on performance

What we look for

  • A desire to take on a broad range of business & marketing functions. At this stage, we need all hands on deck. If you can research the market for leads and conferences, help work on a great deck on Canva, plug the gap with a demo or onboarding sessions, or animate a community on social media, you're the kind of person we need.

  • A "can-do", "will-try", "what-about-this" mindset. We like someone with lots of ideas at the brainstorming stage, lots of energy at the implementation stage, but also an ability to focus on the details and deliver to a high standard.

  • You don't need to know everything out of the gates. We will support you to learn on the job. You will receive a lot of training to feel confident in taking on your tasks.

  • Very strong organisational skills and an ability to be an independent self-starter: we do not micromanage, but we expect high quality work, and ownership of work.

Benefits

  • Working for a company that is doing something good for the community, the country, and ultimately, the world

  • Tons of autonomy, independence, and flexibility.

  • Flexible working arrangements

  • A solid salary with the potential for stock options.

  • A no-glass ceiling environment where you go as far as you can and want.

  • A bunch of nice people to work with (we hope :/)
