Location: Belfast

Contract: Part-time (21 hours per week), permanent.

Our continued success is dependent on attracting and retaining the top talent in all areas of the business. We now have a vacancy for an IT Trainer to join our Information Technology team. The role will involve assessing training needs, developing content and delivering training across the firm. It also covers areas such as promoting the adoption of new technologies, acting as the main escalation point for complex IT training related queries and collaboration with other support functions to develop impactful training strategies.

The IT Trainer will also contribute in key technology initiatives, assisting with testing and documenting of new applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Training needs analysis:

  • Assess the IT competencies of current staff
  • Collaborate with various departments to determine training needs
  • Set priorities, focusing on areas where the greatest impact can be made

Develop a comprehensive training programme:

  • Content development, covering systems such as Windows 11, MS365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Liberate (CRM), BundleDocs, Mimecast and Egress including Information Security
  • Provide an engaging range of delivery methods tailored to legal professionals
  • Continuously monitor training effectiveness
  • Refine training programme based on feedback
  • Provide ongoing assistance to colleagues, ensuring they can confidently navigate our IT systems
  • Work closely with HR, conducting IT inductions for new staff
  • Facilitate business improvements, driven by the Business Support and IT Operations Committees
  • Work closely with colleagues in the IT Team to ensure training is integrated into new initiatives

Experience:

You will be able to design and deliver high quality IT training tailored to legal professionals and support staff. Your communication skills, verbal and written, will enable you to effectively interact with learners.

Key success criteria:

  • Proven experience in delivering IT training, ideally within the legal or professional services sector
  • Strong technical knowledge, particularly in document production (MS Office suite)
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills to engage and motivate learners
  • Have excellent communication skills, explaining complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Be adaptable to meet the needs of the firm including adapting training approaches to a variety of abilities and levels of engagement

Ability to:

  • create, manage and keep up to date a range of instructional documentation
  • manage training schedules and report on uptake and performance
  • assess learner feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of training
  • report progress to the management team
