An opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will provide IT installation and support services from our St Albans based helpdesk and at our customers sites, most of which are located within a 1‑hour drive from the office.


This role will include on‑the‑job training. We will show you the ropes, but previous experience is essential for this role.


Responsibilities


  • Remote Support from our St Albans office.

  • Support visits at customer sites.

  • Resolving support tickets in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintaining first‑rate customer service.

  • Taking ownership of customer issues and requests.


Requirements


  • A full UK driving licence.

  • Previous experience is essential.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for technology.

  • A strong knowledge of IT equipment and computer hardware / software.

  • Good troubleshooting skills and an ability to work through issues.

  • Experience of troubleshooting network issues with knowledge of switches, topology, and patching.

  • Experience of installation and support of personal computers (mainly W11).

  • Working knowledge of administering Microsoft Active Directory / Microsoft365 / Google Workspace.

  • Ability to work to an extremely high standard in order to maintain a first‑rate service.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • A good telephone manner.

  • Applicants need to be smart, confident, and well‑presented.

  • A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required and carried out by the company prior to employment.

Package


  • Starting salary from £32,000 to £35,000 depending upon qualifications and experience. Plus travel costs / car allowance options available.

  • 20 days per annum plus bank holidays.

  • Annual bonus subject to personal and company performance.
