Join Our Information Technology Team as an Apprentice - London Luton Airport Apprenticeship Programme.
We’re excited to announce the launch of a brand-new opportunity as part of our London Luton Airport Apprenticeship Programme. In line with our partnership commitments with Luton Borough Council, we’re providing local opportunities for local residents from LU1 to LU4 postcodes to join our friendly IT Service Desk Team while earning a Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification with LDN Apprenticeships.
About the Apprenticeship
The Information Communication Technician program will give you hands‑on experience across different IT systems and working with a wide range of airport stakeholders.
Your role at London Luton Airport will include
- Being the first point of contact for colleagues, airliners, ground partners, and concessionaires on our friendly and busy IT Service Desk
- Logging and tracking incidents and requests through the ITSM tool, ensuring they are classified and prioritised correctly
- Providing remote support to end‑users on a wide range of IT issues, including hardware, software, and networking problems
- Completing daily checks such as nightly backups
- Providing support for Microsoft and Office 365
- Updating and maintaining knowledge base articles and internal documentation to assist with common support requests and improve the efficiency of the support process
Training and Qualification
- Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship (delivered by LDN Apprenticeships, Ofsted outstanding)
- Duration: 16 months (12‑month apprenticeship, 4‑month gateway period)
- A‑Level equivalent qualification upon successful completion
- 1‑on‑1 meetings with an assigned skills coach
- Monthly live sessions with other apprentices
- In‑person development days every 6 months
- CompTIA Bootcamp – 5‑day bootcamp course in preparation for the A+ Certification
The successful apprentice will cover topics such as
- Helpdesk Essentials
- PC Architecture, Installation and Configuration
- Troubleshooting, Preventative Maintenance and Networking Fundamentals
- Advanced Networking, Mobile and Peripheral Devices
- OS Installation, Configuration, Maintenance and Automation
- Advanced Security Concepts and Methodology
Typical work pattern
- 37 hours per week (including one study day)
- Shift pattern 8:00–17:30, including on‑call after 3 months of service

Qualifications Required / Desirable
Minimum requirements: English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 or above.
- Desirable: Passion in IT, experience setting up personal computers, knowledge of latest technology news and trends
- Confident using Microsoft Office and keen to widen knowledge in the wider‑365 suite
Eligibility
- Living in England for the past 3 years and have the right to work in the UK
- 5‑year checkable work/education history
- Not currently enrolled on any other courses
- Aged 18 or over
- Living in Luton (LU1–LU4)

All apprenticeships are subject to passing enhanced background checks in aviation.
