Role Overview

The role

We are recruiting for an experienced IT Quality Assurance Analyst tojoin our in-house IT Quality Assurance team. The team is part of theTechnology department within the wider Business Services function.

This individual will report to and work closely with the IT QualityAssurance Manager to plan and execute testing for both BAU changes andIT projects, ensuring effective governance across both areas. The roleinvolves ensuring that any software or hardware deployed to the firm'sIT estate meets the expected quality standards.

The successful candidate will support the IT QA function, creatingtest plans and test cases to validate deliverables in line withdefined requirements, executing test cases, reporting results, andmanaging defects through to resolution. A strong understanding ofsoftware testing standards and techniques is essential, along with anextensive background in both test management and manual test execution.

The team

The IT Quality Assurance Team is a vital part of the Technologydepartment, ensuring that all IT changes and projects meet the highestquality standards before deployment. The team collaborates closelywith business analysts, system analysts, project managers, andexternal vendors, working in a structured yet dynamic environment.

With a strong focus on continuous improvement and best practices, theteam plays a key role in maintaining system reliability and enhancingthe firm's overall technology landscape. The team valuescollaboration, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem-solving,making it an excellent environment for individuals who thrive in afast-paced, quality-driven setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

The IT Quality Assurance Analyst will collaborate closely with the ITQA team and business stakeholders throughout the Software DevelopmentLifecycle (SDLC), executing test iterations, tracking and reportingresults, troubleshooting, and coordinating defect resolution.

The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes,ISO Standards, and the QA lifecycle and methodology, contributing tothe continuous improvement of best testing practices and systems.

  • Test management of IT projects and BAU changes, often in parallel.
  • Reporting on test progress throughout the SDLC.
  • Creation and execution of test plans, test scenarios, and testscripts based on identified requirements.
  • Advising on modern testing technologies for continuous improvement.
  • Working with third parties and vendors to ensure testing meetsdefined test criteria.
  • Reviewing requirements and specifications to plan and execute testscenarios verifying expected behaviours.
  • Managing defects through to resolution within the defined defect lifecycle.
  • Gaining expertise in business applications and IT products toensure a measured approach to quality assurance.
  • Contributing to QA activities, including process improvements,automation, change control, release reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in software testing, including someexperience as a Test Manager or Test Lead, demonstrating the abilityto define test plans.
  • Experience in static testing and knowledge of when best to applydifferent techniques.
  • Experience in various application lifecycle methodologies,including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative Development.
  • Functional and non-functional manual testing experience acrosssoftware, hardware, and infrastructure implementations.
  • ISEB / ISTQB Foundation-level certification required, withAdvanced Analyst certification preferred.
  • Experience in the legal sector and familiarity with applicationssuch as, Aderant, Intapp, BigHand is beneficial.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside normal working hours/dayswhen required.
