We have a fantastic opportunity to join our IT team as an IT Network Technician.

As an IT Network Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting the organisation’s IT network infrastructure. You’ll work alongside the Senior Network Engineer to provide second-line support, assist with network projects, and help keep our systems running smoothly.

You’ll be involved in day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring, as well as supporting upgrades, new site installations, and improvements to the overall network environment. The role offers the chance to build your technical knowledge and play a key part in ensuring the reliability and security of our IT systems.

Job Overview
  • Providing 2nd line support for network issues escalated from the IT Service Desk.
  • Assisting with network projects such as upgrades and new site installations.
  • Monitoring and maintaining network performance, availability, and security.
  • Working with internal teams and third-party suppliers to resolve network issues.
  • Keeping network documentation and asset records up to date.
  • Supporting the ongoing improvement of systems and processes.
Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd line network support and troubleshoot issues as directed.
  • Assist with network upgrades, maintenance, and new site installations.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security; respond to incidents as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation and asset records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Good understanding of network technologies and protocols (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, TCP/IP).
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure across multiple sites.
  • Familiarity with switches, routers, and firewalls (Juniper and Fortinet experience is an advantage).
  • Working knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Awareness of Cyber Security principles and best practice.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Relevant technical qualifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, or Fortinet NSE are desirable.

Salary and Benefits
  • Based on site at our Liverpool Head Office
  • 37.50 hours per week
