Qualifications

Job description

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with a UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an experienced Interconnect and Cable Architect to work with our client in Belfast. The successful candidate will mentor and guide others in the design of interconnect and cabling solutions that deliver world-class performance. You will join a team of multidisciplinary engineers working on cutting-edge defence products. Your role spans the entire product lifecycle from design requirements capture and analysis through to defining the interconnect architecture and verifying that the solution meets the customer’s requirements. The Interconnect and Cable Architect role requires working within the Electronics team to optimise the design through trade-studies, analyses, modelling and simulation to produce best-in-class competitive products.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of interconnect and cabling architectures
  • Design cable assemblies based on electrical constraints such as current, screening, signal types, volt drop, EMC, and environmental requirements
  • Lead connector selection and manage evaluation activities
  • Lead the creation of cable schematics and drawings
  • Support integration and testing of cable assemblies
  • Creation of cable specifications, development and verification plans
  • Responsible for compliance to regulatory standards
  • Contribute to bid and estimating activities
Qualifications
  • Degree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline. A lower qualification would be acceptable, for example HNC/HND if the candidate can demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu

  • Experience of interconnect design tools such as Capital Essentials, Zuken or EPLAN
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching others
