Information Manager

About the Role

Join our Digital and Information Management team and play a key role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure. You’ll work on some of the UK’s most ambitious power transmission and distribution projects, driving innovation in BIM, ISO 19650 compliance, and digital delivery.

Role Purpose

Responsible for establishing governance and ensuring data and information flow to and from the common data environments (CDE). Review employers information requirements (EIR) and produce and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Information Management Plans (IMP), and related documents (e.g., MIDP). Manage the Common Data Environment, ensure all project information is available and up‑to‑date, encourage collaborative working, and support the project team throughout. The role has no design‑related duties.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project information through the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Lead BIM processes and support collaborative working across design and construction teams.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Own the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and ensure correct execution.
  • Review and approve information produced by the Task Team against the task brief.
  • Consult the Employers Representative on capturing any specific standards, methods or procedures required by the customer.
  • Collaborate with the Design/Construction Lead on defining the Volume Strategy and assigning the appropriate Level of Definition.
  • Document and validate the Information Requirements with the lead supplier’s EIR(s).
  • Maintain and support task teams with MIDP and TIDP.
  • Work to the IMP and ensure asset information requirements are planned for and managed.
  • Manage and communicate the processes and procedures for information exchange on projects through the CDE and ensure compliance.
  • Report and communicate progress of information development and exchange as defined in the IMP.
  • Attend all project meetings where necessary; hold Information Management start‑up meetings.
  • Confirm suppliers’ ability to deliver information requirements proactively.
  • Liaise with and cooperate with project team members and the employer to support a collaborative culture.
  • Provide coaching and assistance on the implementation of the chosen CDE.
Qualifications
  • BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, HND/HDC or equivalent experience with an understanding and proven delivery of infrastructure or building managing multiple processes/schemes.NVQ – Level 5 or 2‑5 years of project/industry experience.
  • Understanding of the latest industry guidelines for Information Management (ISO 19650 series).
  • Strong communication skills (spoken & written), with ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong technical ability with digital software applications.
  • Experience in training others.
  • Analytical experience.
  • Ability to work under time pressure.
  • Experience collaborating with project teams, supply chain partners and the customer.
  • Keenness to learn, develop and support members of the digital team.
Desirable Qualities
  • Professional membership.
  • Autodesk application experience.
  • GIS application experience.
  • Strong Excel and/or Power BI capability.
  • Power infrastructure experience.
