Job description

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and skilled practitioner to lead our Internal Alternative Provision (a small provision for a maximum of 10 children in Early Years/ KS1 with SEND, most of whom are awaiting specialist provision), within our mainstream school. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing high-quality teaching and support to a small group of children with a range of SEND needs. This is a permanent position and would suit either an experienced teaching assistant looking for a new challenge or a teacher who would like to be able to focus on the progress of a smaller number of children. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am until 3.30pm.

You will plan, prepare and deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences and promote each child’s academic, social and emotional development. Working under the overall direction and supervision of the SENCO and Early Years Lead, and with advice from Amwell View special school, you will adapt and modify learning activities to meet individual needs, while fostering a nurturing and positive learning environment.
