Job summary

A leading international law firm in London is looking for a qualified lawyer to join their global Office of the General Counsel. This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a focus on in-house legal and risk work. Overview of role

Office: London (50% hybird applies)

Duration: 12 month FTC

This is a varied role, sitting in the firm's global Office of the General Counsel, encompassing in-house legal and risk work. It is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reviewing and negotiating client terms.
  • Supporting on global projects, including developing and improving our suite of engagement documents.
  • Reviewing and negotiating third party supplier contracts.
  • Drafting and reviewing and NDAs and other contractual documents.
  • Drafting and maintaining internal business management agreements.
  • Reviewing and maintaining the firm's Data Protection framework.
  • Reviewing Data Protection Agreements.
  • Drafting Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • Advising on Data Protection issues.
  • Supporting on DSARs.
  • Advising on legal and regulatory issues.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory updates.
  • Drafting and updating business protection policies and procedures.
  • Creating and delivering training.
  • Supporting on business protection matters such as client driven due diligence and vendor management.
  • Working in close collaboration with the firm's global Compliance Team
Education, Skills & Experience
  • Qualified lawyer, preferably with some experience in legal practice and/or in a risk management role.
  • Data protection knowledge/experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in an international law firm preferred.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a pragmatic attitude and international outlook.
  • High level of professional competence, rigour and judgment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Confident and credible when dealing with internal stakeholders.
