About the role
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

To continue the support to our staff, operations and growth, and consistently be in line with our People Values, we are hiring for an HR Advisor to contribute significantly to the services we provide, and our ongoing commitment who we are as an employer.

As part of the HR team at Motive and reporting to the HR Team Lead, the HR Advisor will provide day-to-day HR Employee Relations support and act as first point of contact for all HR queries and support for Managers and staff across the business.

About the team

Reporting to our HR Team Lead, you’ll join a small, dedicated HR team committed to keeping everyone at Motive connected and supporting the business in making the difference it strives to achieve. Through HR & Recruitment, our mission is to help our staff get the most out of working for the business and increase awareness of who we are as an employer. This role will play a massive part in making that happen.

Responsibilities
People
  • Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Handle all HR cases in line with policies, best practices, and legislative requirements.
  • Support disciplinary and grievance cases and facilitate coaching and mentoring on HR-related matters. Provide guidance and support to Managers, including investigation and preparation for hearings and appeals.
  • Provide HR support to Managers across global divisions including support with local employment law.
  • Keep employees and management informed about legal obligations and company policies.
  • Support managers in managing attendance, including occupational health referrals.
  • Assist in delivering HR projects and initiatives that support departmental and corporate objectives – including TUPE and consultations.
  • Driving wellness and wellbeing initiatives along with the rest of the HR Team
  • Function as a resource for employees seeking guidance on work-life balance, benefits, and support services.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.
Planet
  • Supporting initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint (e.g., remote working policies, sustainable commuting options)
  • Support diversity and inclusion efforts, aligning HR practices with sustainable and ethical employment standards.
  • Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns
  • Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives
Product
People Relations
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries.
  • Conduct investigations into employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Mediate conflict and facilitate constructive communication between employees and management to promote a harmonious work environment.
  • Support Managers through performance / capability matters and ensuring adherence to company and legal requirements.
  • Support the performance management process by assisting managers in setting performance objectives and providing guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Advise on matters related to employee development, career progression, and training opportunities to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Assist in the identification of training needs across departments and support the implementation of training and development initiatives.
  • Assist and support Managers and Team with internal moves/promotions and secondments.
  • Co-ordinate and track employee development programmes to enhance skills and career progression.
  • Collaborate with Managers to develop and maintain accurate role profiles.
Policy and Compliance
  • Keep informed of changes in employment law and regulations, ensuring company policies and practices remain compliant. Review of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives to promote fairness, consistency, and compliance across the business.
  • Assist with initiatives to foster employee engagement, morale, and wellbeing, such as employee recognition programs wellness initiatives.
  • Promote Motive as an employer across multiple global locations, while understanding diverse cultures.
  • Support the delivery of development & wellbeing related initiatives to Motive staff.
  • Be a positive ambassador to Motive Offshore Group Ltd.
Administration
  • Assist in ensuring the HR mailbox is kept updated and queries are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Assist in ensuring that all HR documentation is saved in the correct format in personnel files.
  • Assist with providing HR Reports when required.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and briefing sessions.
  • Ensure the business is up to date with employment legislation relating to Employment Law
Required skills / knowledge
  • Proven HR experience within oil and gas industry as either Senior HR Co-Ordinator or HR Advisor
  • CIPD Qualified
  • Proven experience in managing employee relation issues, including discipline, grievance and capability.
  • Proven experience in negotiating changes of terms and conditions of employment with staff.
  • Experience of TUPE Transfers and associated legislation
  • Ability to deal with conflicting demands whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and diplomacy.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with Managers across the business and apply consistency
