Job description
Housekeeping Assistant

We currently have a Housekeeping Assistant vacancy within our Wallsend residential care home, working 20 hours per week.

The successful candidate will provide cover and additional support to our existing ancillary staff, splitting their hours between Kitchen Assistant, Laundry Assistant and Domestic Assistant.

Responsibilities
Kitchen Assistant
  • Maintain general cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and associated areas.
  • Wash crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.
  • Laying and cleaning tables.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals and be involved in making and serving light meals and beverages.
Domestic Assistant
  • Maintain general cleanliness and hygiene of the home.
  • General cleaning of communal areas, bedrooms, toilets, bathrooms, laundry, hairdressing salon, offices, and any other areas as required.
Laundry Assistant
  • Maintain tidiness and organisation of the laundry.
  • Ensure all residents’ clothes are appropriately laundered, ironed, mended and returned to individual residents.

Shifts vary in duration, therefore the successful candidate must be flexible, willing to work hard and be adaptable.
